Not an AI App (notanaiapp.com) is an independent news website published from the Netherlands. This page explains, in plain language, what happens with your data when you read it.

What we collect when you read

Reading the site does not require an account, and we do not ask for your name or e-mail address. Like every website, our hosting provider receives technical data from your browser to deliver the pages: your IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time. This data is used to serve the site and to protect it against abuse. We do not sell it and we do not build profiles of readers.

Cookies

The public pages set no advertising or analytics cookies today. The site remembers your light or dark theme choice in your own browser (local storage); that value never leaves your device. The editorial dashboard uses a login cookie, but only for the editor account.

Services we use

• Vercel hosts the website and delivers the pages from servers close to you. Vercel processes the technical data described above.
• Convex stores the articles, images and editorial data. The database runs in the European Union (Ireland). Reader data is not stored there.
• Google Search Console may be used to see how the site appears in Google Search. It gives us aggregate search data, not information about individual readers.

Advertising

We may show advertising to fund the site. When we activate an advertising network such as Google AdSense or Mediavine, that network can use cookies and similar technologies to show and measure ads, and this page will be updated to name the network, explain your choices and link to its privacy information. Until then, the advertisement slots you may see are empty placeholders.

Affiliate links

Some links may be affiliate links, meaning we can earn a fee if you buy or sign up through them, at no extra cost to you. Such links and banners are labelled "Affiliate". They never influence what we write.

Links to other websites

Articles link to original sources. Those websites have their own privacy policies, and we are not responsible for them.

Your rights

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) you can ask which personal data we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, and object to its use. Because we do not keep reader accounts, in most cases we hold nothing beyond the technical logs kept by our hosting provider for a short time. Write to hello@notanaiapp.com and we will answer within a month. You also have the right to complain to the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).

Changes

When something material changes, for example when an advertising network is activated, we update this page and the date at the top. Questions go to the same address, or see the contact page.
